Oklahoma State's 2018 verbal commitment list has been looking sharp, but one thing it has lacked was prospects at the cornerback position. You can't say that any more, with three-star corner JayVeon Cardwell announcing his commitment to the Cowboys via Twitter on Monday afternoon.
Cardwell was in the number four spot on last week's Hot 11, and was the top CB on the list. He's ranked 51st in the nation at corner by Rivals.com and 80th overall in the Texas state rankings.
Cardwell chose the Cowboys over offers from the likes of Texas Tech, Kansas, Ole Miss, Colorado, Tulsa and Vanderbilt, along with several others.
At the time of publication of this update, head coach Mike Gundy hadn't issued his obligatory "Pistols Firing" tweet announcing a new commitment, but we'll add it when he does. Note: See below for Gundy's tweet.
Rivals' Nick Krueger and OSI's Patrick O'Brien are working to track down Cardwell for an interview about his decision. Stay tuned.
