Greenwood commits after shining on Saturday

Oklahoma State football tried something new over last weekend - hosting a late-summer mini-camp. Typically, the Cowboys have one in Stillwater in early June, either right before or after heading to Texas for satellite camps. They did that this summer as well, so last Saturday was in addition to the normal setup.

They were rewarded with around 175 juniors and seniors to-be. Overall, the group was a little heavier with juniors (2018 prospects) and only had a handful of players that entered camp with an offer.

Wide receiver Shamond Greenwood was one of those who entered camp with strong interest from the Cowboys, but no scholarship offer. He turned in an impressive overall performance at the camp and was rewarded with an offer in the days following. He didn't waste any time in accepting it.

At nearly 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, Greenwood impressed us in one-on-one work against defensive backs. He was surprisingly quick off the line of scrimmage and could overpower most DB's if he needed to. Greenwood also ran one of the top 40 yard dashes in camp. In fact, we noted his performance on Saturday night on our Twitter feed.

Greenwood is the 18th verbal commitment for the OSU class of 2017. He's the third wideout commitment for the Cowboy class. The rivals.com commitment list currently shows four, but Lamarcus Morton was recruited by OSU as a defensive back.
