Rudolph jumps into the Rivals250

The final Rivals250 for the class of 2014 is out, and it has some news that Oklahoma State fans have been looking for; not only did early-enrollee Mason Rudolph get elevated from a three star prospect to a four, he landed squarely in the Rivals250. Rudolph's addition gives OSU three commitments in the ranking.

Rudolph's rise coincided with a strong finish to his senior season that saw him lead Rock Hill (SC) Northwestern to a perfect 15-0 season and South Carolina Class AAAA Division II state championship. He capped that off by leading South Carolina to a win in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas, and was named South Carolina's offensive MVP in the game. One-time Rivals100 quarterback Jacob Park also participated in the game for the South Carolina team, but was clearly out-performed by Rudolph after both prospects had strong showings in the week of practices leading up to the All-Star game. Rudolph was 15-of-22 passing for 182 yards and three touchdowns, and led the game-winning drive. Park completed 3 of 11 passes for 61 yards

Rudolph now checks in as the number 196 prospect in the nation.

Rudolph accounted for 4,377 passing yards and 64 touchdowns (to eight interceptions) while completing 72.6% of his pass attempts in his senior season. He added over 500 yards rushing, along with 16 touchdowns. In his three seasons as Northwestern's starting quarterback, Ruldolph tallied over 10,000 yards through the air and 132 touchdown passes.

Rudolph started classes at Oklahoma State a week ago and will participate in spring drills.

Broken Arrow linebacker Gyasi Akem (No. 157) and wide receiver Keenen Brown (No. 221) are the other two OSU verbal commitments in the Rivals250.

Yesterday, the final Rivals100 - which makes up the first 100 prospects in the Rivals250 - was also released. OSU remains in the hunt for two prospects in the Rivals100 and 250. Jenks safety Steven Parker and River Ridge (LA) Curtis linebacker Kenny Young are both expected to take official visits to Stillwater ahead of signing day.

Editor's note - The statistics initially listed for Rudolph's senior season and career did not include the state championship game. They have been updated to reflect his full 15-game season and career
