OSU in the Rivals250

Rivals.com released the Rivals250 presented by Under Armour earlier on Tuesday and Oklahoma State shows up strongly among the prospects ranked - perhaps as strongly as ever at a comparable point in the rankings process.

Among the Cowboys' three current verbal commitments for the class of 2014, two show up in today's ranking. The Broken Arrow, Okla. tandem of running back Devon Thomas and linebacker Gyasi Akem remained in the ranking. Thomas slid nine spots from the previous Rivals250, from 155 to 164. His star and RivalsRatings remain unchanged at 4-stars and 5.9, respectively. Helped by a strong showing at the Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour Dallas stop, Akem jumped 26 spots in the updated rankings.

In addition to Thomas and Akem, a total of 20 prospects have offers from Oklahoma State and are not currently committed to another school currently. A good portion of those likely fall in the "long-shot" category for the Pokes, but there is some sort of a shot with most of them.

Quarterbacks Kyle Allen and David Cornwell might combine for OSU's best shot at a Rivals100 member at the present. Allen (No. 27 overall) has been actively recruited by OSU for a year, and made the trip from Scottsdale, AZ to OSU's spring game last month. Cornwell (No. 66) appears to be leaning out-of-state, but if his eyes turn back to his home state OSU would likely emerge as the favorite.

Oklahoma City Douglass defensive end Deondre Clark and Jenks safety Steven Parker are other Oklahomans with OSU offers that are currently uncommitted.

Perhaps not surprisingly, the wide receiver group is particularly strong as it relates to OSU. No. 53 KD Cannon has listed the Pokes as a possibility for several months. The Cowboys also have outstanding offers at the position to No. 58 Malachi Dupre, No. 68 Demarre Kitt, No. 102 Trey Quinn and No. 245 Cameron Sims. Sims attended OSU's spring game, while Quinn plans to visit Stillwater sometime this summer.

With last season's signing class winding up with just one Rivals250 member, they already look stronger in the rankings in 2014. Here's a look at the full list of Rivals250 presented by Under Armour that are not committed to another school and have an offer from OSU:
