Fall camp injury update

Through one full week of fall camp, Oklahoma State has had a handful of players suffer moderate to serious injuries. Two players are expected 2-3 weeks, while a true freshman is out indefinitely.

Thanks to Twitter, we know that two of those players have already undergone surgery. Not coincidentally, they are the two with the best prognosis.

Sophomore defensive end Jimmy Bean suffered a knee injury three days into camp. He underwent arthroscopic surgery this week and received good news. He is expected to be able to return to practice in 2-3 weeks.

On Thursday, Bean tweeted "Blessed!! The news I just got about my knee," though that tweet has since been removed.

As we reported on The Corral message board on Wednesday night, redshirt freshman inside receiver Torrance Carr suffered a broken bone in his right foot earlier in the week. After trying to play through it for a couple of days, the break was discovered. Carr underwent surgery on Thursday and is expected to miss 2-3 weeks. It is a very similar injury that caused Carr to miss the first few weeks of fall camp last season, but on the other foot.

The prognosis for true freshman linebacker Jeremiah Tshimanga is less certain. He is out indefinitely with an injury to his right knee.

Of those three, only Carr was in OSU's pre-camp two-deep. He was listed behind JUCO transfer Blake Jackson at one of the inside receiver spots.

Other injuries in OSU's fall camp would best be characterized as minor and typical of any fall camp.

Defensive lineman Christian Littlehead missed Friday's practice, according to a team spokesman. The Tulsa World's Kelly Hines has reported that Littlehead reported to the Cherokee County Courthouse this morning to have a warrant for his arrest recalled and a court date set. The warrant was issued on Wednesday, for a misdemeanor assault and battery charge stemming from an alleged incident in Tahlequah last March. His court date has been set for 9 a.m. on September 24th.
