Oklahoma State tops the Preseason Media Poll
The Big 12 Conference might be as wide-open as ever in 2013.
This morning, the Big 12 Media Preseason Poll was released, which is a poll taken from the media on where they think teams will finish in the conference, was released to the public.
In this poll, six teams received first place votes, with Oklahoma State receiving the most with 15 and a conference-leading 365 overall points.
To paint a better picture of just how unsure the media is on this year, just four teams received first place votes in 2012, three teams in 2011 (With Oklahoma receiving 41 of them), and five in 2010.
It's the first time Oklahoma State was named the preseason Big 12 Champion by the media (The next-closest was in 2011 when they received one first-place vote, but trailed Oklahoma and Texas A&M overall), which doesn't really mean much other than people are taking notice at what Mike Gundy's doing.
Factor in that Gundy lost both his offensive and defensive coordinators, and it's a complete shock..
Below is the full list of standings from the poll.
