Nigel Bradham was part of a top 10
recruiting class signed by Florida State last month.
Following a wildly successful prep career, he ranked
as the nation's top linebacker and the top prospect
overall in Florida according to FlaVarsity.com. As a
bonus, he graduated high school early and enrolled at FSU
in January. He just completed a full session of mat
drills and will take part in spring practice.
What we know: Bradham possesses a
rare combination of size, athleticism, instincts, speed
and strength. He recently showed off his amazing strength
recently with a 400-pound plus bench press and a power
clean of 365 pounds. He used those skills to the benefit
of Wakulla High School last year. All of those skills
will be tested on the football field next week.Opinion:
It's very rare for a true freshman start in game one for
a Mickey Andrews' defense but Bradham may be the right
player at the right time. With two veterans likely out
the first few games because of a suspension, the former
prep All-American is in a perfect position to make a run
at a starting spot at either Will or Sam linebacker. If
he lives up to his enormous potential this spring and
proves to be a quick learner there's a better than
average chance that he will be lining up with the
starting three in the season opener.

High School Review:
Rivals.com rated Bradham as a five-star recruit and the
nation's top linebacker. FlaVarsity.com rated him as the
#1 player overall in the state of Florida. He was also a PARADE
All-American. |
