AuburnSports.com Xavier nailed 16 3-pointers including a career-high six by B.J. Raymond as the Musketeers cruised to an 80-57 win over Auburn and Beard-Eaves Coliseum Sunday afternoon.
Raymond scored a game-high 18 points making 6-of-8 from 3-point range as Xavier tied a school record for the second consecutive game with 16 made 3-pointers on 26 attempts.
"They've shot the ball so well the last three games," said AU head coach Jeff Lebo. "Our chance was for them to go 6-of-26, not 16-of-26. They're good and can really shoot the ball."
Xavier led by 17 at halftime before Auburn opened the second half on an 11-0 run capped off by a dunk by Frank Tolbert. But Xavier answered after a media timeout, with a 13-0 run including two 3-pointers to stretch the lead to 19 with 13 minutes remaining.
