Dawgs set pecking order for Summer

UGASports.com With spring practice in the books and fall camp looming in the not to distant future, the Georgia Bulldogs released their post-spring depth chart Monday evening. As the Bulldogs finish up their finals and begin preparing for summer workouts, some positions remain open for competition while others were locked up this spring.
Starting at the top, sophomore quarterback Matthew Stafford, Joe Cox, and Blake Barnes are a respectable trio of quarterbacks with Stafford and Cox firmly on top. Stafford is clearly the top dog and Cox is as good a backup as any coach could desire.
At tailback, the Bulldogs are waiting to see who will backup Kregg Lumpkin next fall. In the mix are Knowshon Moreno, Thomas Brown, and Jason Johnson. Moreno has the early edge at number two because Brown is recovering for a torn ACL and may take awhile to get up to full speed. Moreno's early performance in camp could influence how much playing time he gets next fall and how quickly they work Brown back into the rotation. Johnson who had a great spring will serve as an insurance policy should someone go down.
